About The Project

Mark Gutowski, a lifelong resident of Twinsburg and photographer came up with the idea to publish a picture book after reviewing his archive of Twinsburg photos and noticing a much different view of Twinsburg then the one that is observed simply by driving along the city’s main thoroughfares. Along with the abundant park land, landscapes and festivities, he also noticed a robust business sector.  Gutowski said, “Our corporate neighbors greatly contribute to making Twinsburg a top rated city over and over again, and contribute in that endeavor as much as anyone”, “The realization that I came to is that as residents we all see Twinsburg from our own perspectives.

Gutowski teamed up with Chamber of Commerce and the Historical Society. Together, they have embarked on a project to capture life in Twinsburg, Ohio. Their aim is to create a high quality, hardcover picture book of Twinsburg, through submitted photographs. All of the profits from the book will be donated to Chamber of Commerce and the Historical Society.

The “Explore Twinsburg” committee whose other members include Gary Sorace, Abby Schroll, Peter DeSouza and Audrey Kancler came up with the idea to request images from the residents of Twinsburg to bring those individual perspectives together to form a complete vision of life in Twinsburg today.

Citizens are encouraged to submit photographs, which may be of anything that captures the beauty and charm of our city. Topics may include but are not limited to: buildings, houses, structures, monuments, doors, people, events, gatherings, parks, nature, flora, and fauna. Photographs from all four seasons are encouraged.

The photographs selected by a jury will be included in the book for publication. The individual who submitted the photograph and or photographer of the photograph will be recognized in the book under the photograph they submitted. All photos submitted will be featured on the group’s website; www.ExploreTwinsburg.com.
